How it works

A place in the draw for everyone, from absolute beginner to highly competitive.

Our social events introduce new players to the sport and develop them until they can compete with the best players at the venue, and represent us in outside leagues and competitions. Above all, the point is to have fun.

This is the category for you if:

  • it's your first time picking up a bat
  • you've only played on camps and holidays
  • you love a social evening and meeting new people over a few drinks and laughs

No annual membership fees and no commitment. Come when you feel like it. We hold weekly competitions in a structured but social setting, where ladies and gents, kids and adults play in one section with bragging rights for the winner. Everyone gets ranking points for their final placing.

You've played some. Maybe you've won the social division, you're untouchable in garage battles, and you're eyeing an advanced bat, or already own one. But you still enjoy the social vibe.

The Intermediate Division of our weekly competitions is where you test yourself. Still no annual fee or commitment. More ranking points are on offer, and this pool of players is first in line for our monthly invitational events with prize money.

Once you've developed enough, move up to the Premier Division, where the stakes are higher and the competition much stronger.

Not for the faint-hearted. A periodic four-week series where the top-ranked players act as team captains and draft their squads. It's an open pitch-and-play event, so provincial league players are welcome.

Each team's top three players score for the team on the night. The winning team at the end of the series takes R1,000 and the top individual player R500.

To reward the top performers we host periodic invitational events. The best players from recent social competitions are invited, and the draw is filled to between 8 and 24 players from the venue's own rankings. Ranking points are usually well above a normal weekly competition.

There are two divisions: Premier, and Development, which excludes high-level players but still carries a sizeable prize purse.

The prize pot is built from a percentage of every competition entry. More than R120,000 has been paid out from the prize fund over five years.
