Relegation

After every two rounds (six legs) the bottom two teams are dissolved and the two top-ranked players excluding current team owners (the top-ranked player from each team) are made team owners for the next round. If they are the same team owners as before, they may only select one player from before. They are given first choice from the available players for their second and third selections, and go last in the next three legs’ draft.

Prizes

There will be a R1,500 prize for the top three players from the top team after every two rounds (six legs) of the competition.

This prize is split as follows:

Top player: R700
2nd place: R500
3rd place: R300

This means that the top player ALWAYS comes from the top team, and might not be the top-ranked individual player.

The Draft

Eight top players will be appointed as team owners before the start of the new season.

These team owners will take turns to select players from the pool of Super Series players. The first round of selection is done from the bottom up, meaning the lowest-ranked team owner chooses first and the top-ranked team owner gets the last option. Each owner can select three players, of which at least two must have played at least two legs of the preceding Super Series.

After each round of three legs, the bottom players from each team based on SS ranking go back into the pool and another draft is done, including players from the past month’s SCMIs not forming part of any teams.

During this draft, a team may NOT select the same player as before. The draft is done from the bottom up.

Each draft selection is made by the top player of the team at the time according to the SS rankings – not necessarily the original team owner.

Format

Eight teams will participate in the new-look Super Series. Each team may have up to four players representing in each leg, with the top three players scoring points for their teams.

The draw in each leg will take into account the level-rankings for preliminary stages as well as seeding by association. This means that players from the same team will play in different groups of the round robin stages wherever possible.

Playoffs will be held for all positions as far as possible. An exception will be made for the last round in divisions other than the main draw. Wherever possible, at least a final in each division will be played.

The tournament rating is always derived from the combined levels of all participants. Independent players (not representing any team) are also allowed to participate and be eligible for selection during the next draft.
